    Vegan alternative for Beeswax.

Carnauba Wax is a vegetable wax from the leaves of the Brazilian 'tree of life'. The Carnauba palm grows in the north eastern part of Brazil where the soil is dark and fertile. Quality and color vary with the age of the leaves. The carnauba wax is yellow in color, beads life form and used cosmetics, lipsticks, salves, cream and ointments.

Due to its high melting point, natural wax can impart gloss, hardness, slip and improve thermal stability to a variety of applications.

Candelilla wax is a vegetable derived wax popular as a vegan substitute for beeswax in cosmetic formulations. It is extracted from the shrub (Euphorbia Cerifera) by boiling it, and skimming off the resultant wax. The raw material is refined to a light yellow color.

Candelilla produces excellent gloss and structure and is ideal for finished products where firm consistency and high melt point are important. Candelilla also has water repellent and film forming properties.

Commonly used in lipsticks, lip gloss, candles, balms, beard products and other natural skin care.

Beeswax is most commonly used in lip balms, body butters, and beard wax to thicken and 'set' a formulation.

Due to its highly complex composition and its soft, pliable nature, beeswax remains an indispensable raw material, although there are vegan alternatives such as carnauba wax that can be easily substituted.

Beeswax can also be used in a variety of other applications, such as polishing furniture and other wooden carvings, and making pure beeswax candles. Add your favourite essential oils for a luxurious personalised scent.

Our white beeswax comes in pastille/bead form, making it extremely easy to weigh, use and store.
